THE ORGANIZATION(S)

Founded in 1981, the Oregon Solar + Storage Industries Association (OSSIA) is the state’s solar industry trade association. OSSIA’s mission is to make solar energy a significant energy source in Oregon and expand the market by strengthening the industry and developing a skilled and stable workforce. Leading over 100 solar businesses throughout Oregon, and the more than 4,000 individuals working within the industry, OSSIA advances policy, removes market barriers, highlights emerging trends, and promotes outreach and education.

The Oregon Solar Energy Education Fund (OSEEF) is the 501 c3 sibling organization of OSSIA. OSEEF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to supporting solar education and regulatory reform in Oregon. By partnering with solar companies, workforce development organizations, current and future solar workers, solar regulators, and forward-looking policymakers we’re breaking down barriers to expanding solar energy as a vital part of a clean and renewable energy mix.

OSSIA/OSEEF are small but mighty organizations with a combined budget of just under $1 million.  Staff and volunteer Boards of Directors support each other and work collaboratively to advance our goals.  We celebrate our successes and navigate our challenges together.

OSSIA & OSEEF are serious about equity!

OSSIA & OSEEF are committed to making equity a reality in the solar industry. We are at the beginning of our equity journey; with consultant guidance, OSSIA and OSEEF staff and board are underway with a diversity, equity, and inclusion self-assessment to create an equity plan for our work, making it a great time to impact our future. The only way to achieve our vision to provide universal access to solar energy is by being equitable and inclusive of all races, nationalities, abilities, genders, romantic partner choices, and other communities pushed to the margins by institutions and systems.
