National Solar Industry Policy Priorities for 2021
Last week, SEIA released The Solar Vision, a set of policy priorities that are consistent with our goals in the Solar+ Decade and will put America on a path to 100% clean energy. To lay the foundation for a strong clean energy economy that prioritizes equity and environmental justice, the solar industry proposes an agenda organized around three strategic principles:
Implement policies that drive solar and storage deployment and curb climate impacts, including changes to solar tax frameworks, carbon pricing, research and development.
Prioritize support for underserved communities, workforce training, low-income access to solar, transmission planning, grid upgrades, and other critical Solar+ components.
Emphasize the importance of fair market access, fair tax treatment, fair trade, a fair regulatory regime, and establish a level, competitive playing field for a vibrant solar industry.
